Trinity Buoy Wharf Wedding Photographer

Trinity Buoy Wharf sits beside the Thames in London’s Docklands. This is a super cool and uber stylish wedding very with a large warehouse ‘main’ room and a huge terrace opening onto the river with the O2 tent in the back ground. Oh, Trinity Buoy Wharf also has a Light House…yup, a fully working and accessible Light House. I’ve had the great pleasure of photographing a number of terrific weddings at Trinity Buoy Wharf, all during the summer which makes sense considering the huge terrace and Thames views. I’m not discounting this cool East London Wedding Venue for a winter wedding but its certainly got alfresco wedding vibes. If you’re looking at cool wedding venues on the Thames then also check out The Gun Pub and The Trafalgar Pub in Geenwich.

The Hackney East London Wedding Reception Venue

Formerly The Hackney Coffee Company, The Hackney is super cute wedding venue tucked away in Bethnal Green. During the day The Hackney is a coffee shop but when hired as a party venue you get full run of the place. The back room has amazing plants and tons of natural light from a small patio area. I’ve photographed couples using The Hackney just as a wedding reception venue as well as an, ‘all in one’ get married and stay and party. The main room works well for 50 or so guests and is really versatile. My last wedding at The Hackney the couple got married, had dinner and then danced all in the same space with minimum fuss changing the room around. The surrounding area of Hackney Road has a gritty feel (see grubby, urban, hipstery..) so a walk for Mr and Mrs Portraits is heavy on grafitti and urban cool. An artist and a dancer couple whose wedding I photographed at the venue actively wanted the grub and grime in their wedding pictures. I love a fresh take on portraiture and happily the couple are super chuffed with the results.

The Hemingford Arms Islington Pub Wedding Reception

hemingford arms wedding reception 0008

The Hemingford Arms is a smashing pub in Islington, North London. This is a classic ‘boozer’ with the original Victorian bar down stairs and a cute function room upstairs. The Hemingford Arms function room has its own bar and access to a little balcony that runs around the entire front of the building. There are exposed wooden floors and floor to ceiling windows plus nice old furniture, in short its a very cool little party space. Polly and Terry got married in Room 99 at Islington Town Hall. Their wedding was low key, family orientated and double stylish. I love Islington Town Hall weddings. Not only is Islington Town Hall close to my home in Stoke Newington, its also a pretty majestic building. Room 99 at Islington Town Hall is their new (ish) additional and perfect for small weddings, 20 people or so. Hiring a vintage red double decker bus has become almost the norm. A vintage double decker is charming and fun. I’ve gotta say though, I prefer a single decker 1950’s bus like the one Terry booked to get the party to The Hemingford Arms. This bus just looked awesome and delivered us round the corner to the Islington pub wedding reception venue. If you are are on the hunt for a London pub wedding recption venue then I would heartily recommend checking this one out.

The Glass House Hackney Wedding Venue

The Glass House is in Springfield Park in Clapton, Hackney. This wedding and wedding reception venue is managed by Hackney Venues. Hackney Venues run some of my fave East London venues such as Clissold House and Hackney Town Hall. Springfield Park is Est London hidden gem of a space. THere’s all the manicured planting and ponds that you’d expect in a London park but there’s also a ton of wild flower meadows. My last visit to The Glass House included smoke flares which looked amazing with the big sky behind. The interior of the Glass House wedding venue is split into two main rooms, ceremony in one, reception in the other. Dancing, bands and Dj’s take over the ceremony space once we’ve moved on from the ‘I Do’s’. There’s lovely secure outdoor space thats suits a post wedding drinks and works well for any family group portraits you might be wanting. If you’re looking for Hackney wedding venues then also check out Clissold House and the soon to be open Abney Park Chapel.

The Depot N7 Kings Cross Wedding Venue

The Depot N7 in between Kings Cross and Caledonian Road is a fabulous wedding venue. Its a mix of pub and restaurant with oodles of space for drinking, eating and dancing. This fun wedding venue is very popular, which makes sense not just because of the quality menu but also the location. The Depot is very convenient for three of the main North London Town Halls, Hackney, Islington and Marylebone. Some of fave London churches are also close by for example St. Etheldredas and St. Bartholomews The Great. A major plus point of The Depot is the split levels enabling a party to have room to breath. Often the older generation guests and young families want a little distance from the dance-floor. A mezzanine floor offers great views of the whole pub and is also a perfect platform for speeches. The cobbled yard outside the The Depot works well for late night sparklers and martini expressos. This North London wedding pub works equally well in summer or winter, I recommend you book a viewing if it ticks a few of your wish list boxes. If its a North London pub wedding venue you’re after then also check out The Londesborough in Stoke Newington and The Drapers Arms in Islington.

Pitzhanger Manor and Gallery Wedding

Pitzhanger Manor and Gallery is in Ealing in West London. The stunning Manor House has gorgeous grounds and a restaurant called Soanes Kitchen attached. Soanes Kitchen has its own walled garden with an amazing wysteria. If your thinking of a spring wedding then the wysteria is in bloom and look incredible. The interior of The Pitzhanger Manor is elegant and stylish. The wall paper in the drawing room is a stunning back drop and the stair case is a must for portraits. The grounds of the Pitzhanger Manor have a small pond and cute bridge, and the gallery space is an added bonus. If you’re looking for Manor House wedding venues in London then also check out Gunnersbury Park and Fulham Palace.
