The Peasant Pub in London’s Clerkenwell is a magnificent pub wedding reception venue. This EC1 wedding reception venue is a proper pub with a huge Victorian bar and seating upstairs for food. The Peasant really understand how to run a reception. The service is friendly and relaxed and food is delish. Hayley and Stuart chose The Peasant for all those reasons AND because its ten minutes away from Islington Town Hall. The vintage bus that collected the entire wedding party from Upper Street took the time it took to drink a can of Pimms to get to the pub wedding reception!

The Peasant is super convenient for Islington Town Hall Weddings. I have been photographing Islington Town Hall weddings for many years and it remains one of my faves. The circular Council Chamber is magnificent and marble corridors and stair case look gorgeous for portraits. A bus will take 10 minutes from an Islington Town Hall Wedding to the doors of the Peasant Pub in Clerkenwell. Mr and Mrs portrait opportunities abound in the cute back streets surrounding the Peasant pub. Often I suggest that couples let their guests enjoy the hospitality of The Peasant while we three nip off for a fun stroll and natural, unposed portraits. This little walk after the ceremony always gives the bride and groom a little welcome breather after the emotional roller-coster of getting married.

In the evening the Peasant Pub bar area doubles as a dance-floor. This is a major bonus as theres no time lost to staff flipping a room from dining to dancing. Some of my fave first-dances have been in The Peasant Pub. The mixture of dancing guests and family and friends chatting and drinking in the same pub space is wonderful. The Peasant Pub is an unpretentious and very cool wedding reception joint.
The Londesborough Pub wedding Reception
The sister pub to The Peasant is in Stoke Newington and called The Londesborough. Both The Peasant and The Londesborough have a similar vibe, great food and awesome staff. Both pubs are conveniently located near popular Town Hall; Islington Town Hall for The Peasant and Stoke Newington Town Hall for The Londesborough.
