Royal Inn on the Park Pub Wedding Photographer

Lucy and George made four fantastic decisions in the lead up to this spring time East London wedding. The first was deciding to getting married (a great call, they’re made for each other!), the second was tying the knot in the gorgeous Committee Room at Hackney Town Hall. The third stella decision was hiring The Royal Inn on the Park to host their wedding reception. Admittedly this a stretch but, if I’m going to toot my own horn then the fourth mega decision was to commission yours truly to photograph their wonderful celebrations! If you’re planning your own Hackney Wedding then drop me a line using my Contact Form to check my availability. Getting married in the Committee Rooms at Hackney Town Hall

The Committee Rooms at Hackney Town Hall are elegant with warm tones cast from the wooden panelling. Access to The Committee Rooms is from the magnificent central marble stairway and landing.  The interior of the Hackney Town Hall is a stylish Art Deco master piece, a gift for a Hackney wedding photographer like me.

Stylish East London Wedding Venues

I’ve had the great pleasure of photographing numerous Hackney Town Hall weddings, the building has a fab choice of rooms to suit all size of wedding. George and Lucy picked the Committee Rooms to get married in. There were 80 or so guests, which is perfect for this space. I was on hand for Lucy’s arrival to Mare Street, emotional and super excited.

An East London Town Hall Wedding

The Town Hall in Hackney has grand external steps that are perfect for confetti and also a big group picture. The walk between the Committee Room and the external steps takes in the Art Deco stair way and is great for unposed and natural portraits. After a few fun family portraits a vintage Route Master bus took us all to Victoria Park and the Royal Inn Pub On The Park which was hosting the wedding reception.

Victoria Park Pub Wedding Reception

The Royal Inn on the Park is a large Victorian pub with a beautiful beer garden with adjoining function space. Glass doors can slide open so guests can walk straight from the dining/dancing room into the beer Garden. This is such a great feature, particularly on a hot day. The pub over looks Victoria Park Village, a cute little cobbled enclave of Bethnal Green, super stylish and well worth a visit.

Natural and Unposed Wedding Portraits in Victoria Park

As the wedding guests enjoyed drinks and canapes, the bride, groom and I nipped to Victoria Park for a little stroll. I rarely ask couples to pose, I prefer a more relaxed approach and photograph a couple naturally as they talk and laugh. Sometimes a couple will have an idea for a portrait that they share with me. George had seen a stiff and formal black and white portrait from way back when taken in Victoria Park. A bowler hatted fella standing next to a tree stump, we decided to recreate the image, with our modern take.
