Abney Park Chapel Wedding in Stoke Newington
The beautiful and beyond romantic Chapel in Abney Park in Stoke Newington has been given a wonderful make over. The Chapel is located in the wild and dramatic Abney Park in Stoke Newington, a small borough of Hackney. The Abney Park Chapel is nestled in the centre of the park surrounded on all sides with woodland. Woven into the woodland are cute paths that meander through the park. This Hackney Venues wedding venue is genuinely unique and happily for me, its on my doorstep!
Getting Married in Abney Park Chapel
Paddy and Ruth chose this spectacular East London Wedding Venue to host their Stoke Newington Wedding. The Hackney couple didn’t want any formal wedding photography. My relaxed wedding photography style suited their plans. Guests were arriving to the Chapel as I floated about. Paddy was looking super dapper as he waited at the front of the Chapel for the arrival of Ruth.
Unique and Stylish East London Wedding Venues
The wedding ceremony was the perfect blend of excited cheering from a huge group of pals and hushed romance, deeply moving in parts. A young flower girl niece distributed hand picked wild flowers to guests took their seats. A fabulous balcony has been added to the interior Chapel space. The balcony is reached via spiral stairway accessed from the outside. I was able to nip up to photograph the wedding from a stunning angle.
Most Romantic London Wedding Venues
After the ceremony, Paddy and Ruth danced back up the aisle and tucked themselves away behind Abney Chapel. Groomsmen had been briefed to assist in organising two loose lines of guests ready for confetti. Confetti is allowed as long as it’s organic, petals or paper. The bride, groom and I then nipped for a 5 minute walk through thewoods while I took unposed portraits. The couple were keen to be super quick so they could get back to their guests.
The Londesborough Pub Wedding Reception

The Londesborough Pub is a ten-minute walk from The Abney Chapel. The walk from Abney Park Chapel to The Londesorough Pub is always fun and great for pictures. The walk through Abney park is simply stunning glorious. This clever Stokey couple had laid on buckets of iced drinks along the way, nothing gets a crowd moving like a M&S tinned G and T!
Hackney Pub Wedding Reception
I love a Londesborough Pub Wedding Reception. The staff really know how to throw a party and the food is delish. The Londesborough has a useful garden/outdoor space and cute pic-nic tables along the front. I like to use the front of the pub for group pictures.
Award Winning East London Wedding Photographer
Drinks and amazing canapes did the rounds as I floated about the party. Speeches followed which were absolutely beautiful – I get to see and hear a ton of speeches, but these set the bar high. This was a fabulous wedding, well planned and amazing fun. A huge thank you goes to both Ruth and Paddy for making me so welcome and as always the team at The Londesborough.
