Islington Town Hall Richmond Suite Wedding
Aimee and Jack got married in The Richmond Suite at Islington Town Hall. The wedding reception was celebrated in the Hammerton Brewery, next to Caledonian Road in North London. I’ve had the great pleasure of photographing many wonderful weddings at Islington Town Hall and am very familiar with the Council Chamber and Room 99. This was my first visit to The Richmond Suite at Say I do Islington, I loved it!
Getting Married in The Richmond Suite at Islington Town Hall
Guests gathered at The Vineyard Pub opposite Islington Town Hall. Jack was looking super dapper, resplendent in natty suit and Henley Regatta style straw boater. Everyone moved over Upper Street to The Richmond Suite where the wedding would shortly begin. Aimee looked dynamite as her father walked her down the aisle. There’s bundles of natural light in The Richmond Suite, it’s a large room suitable for a 100 plus guests.

Islington Town Hall has beautiful wide marble corridors and a magnificent staircase which I often use for portraits. On Aimee and Jacks July wedding day the skies were threatening rain. Thankfully the weather held and the newly minted Mr and Mrs walked into a cloud of confetti on the steps of the Town Hall.

Traveling around London can be a massive pain in the wotnot. Getting between wedding venues is a big logistical endeavour and should be taken seriously in the planning stages of a wedding. Jack and Aimee cleverly chose Islington Town Hall for their wedding and The Hammerton Brewery for their reception which are walkable distances. Jack’s best-man led a hilarious tour from Upper Street to Caledonian Road pointing out some interesting factoids and other more dubious info, I think made up on the spot!

The Hammerton Brewery is a working, bona fide brewery. It produces delish beers and lagers and also operates a pub near the Arsenal Stadium. There is a large multi level Tap Room entertainment space with its own bar. The space was set up tables and seating for the Paella dinner being prepared outside. Gazebo’s were set up in the mews outside the Brewery to keep off either the sun or the rain – both which visited this smashing wedding.
Alternative Wedding Reception Venues in North London
This was not my first Hammerton Brewery Wedding. In 2016 I photographed the wedding of owners and founders of Hammerton Brewery, Lee and Karina. This awesome power duo have done a bang up job of making The Hammerton Brewery a special wedding reception venue. If you are after a fun party space and want to bring in your own caterers then you must check it out. Over the summer The Tap Room is popular for live music and watching sports. The Hammerton Brewery Bar reminds me a bit of The Depot N7 which actually not far away, in Kings Cross. Both the bars have similar split levels and a proper party vibe.

All the daylight in The Hammerton comes in from the huge barn doors. There’s oodles of space for guests to drink at the bar while also the outdoor option. Once dinner was cleared away the tables were swiftly removed to make a dance-floor. I love it when guests turn on their camera lights during a first dance. Jack and Aimee waltzed around surrounded by their loved ones before being joined by the whole gang.
