Hackney Town Hall Wedding
Rachel and Gareth walked hand in hand through London Fields after their Hackney Town Hall wedding. I met Rachel and the bridal party in a stunner of an AirBnB near London Fields. I live very close to London Fields so it was a lovely local wedding in my home manor of Hackney. Rachel and the girls walked the 10 minutes to Hackney Town Hall. One of my fave moments of the whole day came when passing a cute vibrant coffee shop. All the coffee drinkers sat outside started whistling and clapping as Rachel walked by. It felt so brilliantly London – I love this town!
Getting married at Hackney Town Hall
I have photographed many Hackney Town Hall weddings. The team at Hackney Venues always run a tight ship and Rachel and Gareth tied the knot in front of family and friends. As guests made their way out the bride and groom and I stayed for some portraits in the amazing Assembly Room. This enormous space is flooded with daylight and a gift for wedding photographers. Confetti and celebrations followed on the steps overlooked by the historic Hackney Empire. After confetti and a few family group portraits we all made our way back to the AirBnB base camp for a feast. Hackney Venues is the company that run a host of fabulous Hackney based wedding joints including Clissold House and Stoke Newington Town Hall.
London Fields Wedding Portraits
The walk back through London Fields was a wonderful opportunity to grab more unposed portraits of the happy couple. The graffiti on the tunnel leading to the park always makes for a cool back drop. It was here that poor Gareth was pierced by his button hole pin when Rachel gave him a cuddle – hard not to laugh!We are all looking forward to seeing the back of Covid weddings. Thankfully it looks like light at the end of the tunnel and from June 21st we could be wedding mask free. I have a wonderful year of weddings ahead of me.
