Clapton Round Chapel Gay Wedding Reception

Clapton Round Chapel is a super cool East London Wedding Venue in Clapton in Hackney. I live in Hackney and know The Round Chapel quite well having photographed a number of wonderful wedding celebrations at this venue. The wedding started in Broadway Market where the fellas met for a walk through London Fields to the pub to meet some guests. Broadway Market is beside London Fields and is my absolute favourite street market in London, bar none. Its got wonderful street food, great coffee and all round great vibes. You can often find me and my family there on a weekend, coffee/pint/noodles in hand…often all three at once.

Gay wedding at Hackney Town Hall

Rory and Sam hired the Clapton Round Chapel for their gay wedding reception. Hackney Town Hall Council Chamber hosted the main event. We met in London Fields for a walk to Hackney Town Hall. Thats 3 of my fave Hackney venues all in one wedding! Hackney Town Hall Council Chamber is a bit of an unsung hero. The newly built North and South Atria have stolen the show a little but I much prefer the charm of the Council Chamber. Similar to Islington Town Hall the Council Chamber is circular. The council Chamber has the same rich wood panelling that the Committee Rooms have which is always so flattering in wedding photography.

London Fields Wedding Photographer

This fab Hackney gay wedding started in London Fields with a walk down Broadway Market. The sun shone as we made our way through London Fields to the Pub on the Park to pick up some guests. Hackney Town Hall is only a 5 minute walk from the pub, perfect for low key, unposed documentary wedding photography. Hackney Town Hall run a tight ship. The ceremony was beautiful and before long Rory and Sam were celebrating in a shower of confetti. A very cool element to this Clapton Round Chapel wedding reception was the lovely walks between venues.

The Round Chapel in Clapton has a huge stage with a wonderful balcony running around the entire building. The original lectern or pulpit has been kept and is perfect for wedding speeches. A useful balcony runs all around the Round Chapel. This balcony enabled me to photograph all the fun without getting in peoples eye-lines. This is important to me, I like to be low and discrete in my wedding photography. Tables were set for a buffet dinner and the was play-list waiting to go. A snack van with hot dogs and burgers arrived late that night (nice touch!) and the dance-floor was packed from the get go.
