Getting Married at Chelsea Old Town Hall
Chelsea Old Town Hall is an iconic London summer wedding venue, wind, rain or shine. The weather is obviously a big factor on a wedding day. But I can honestly say that some of the most romantic weddings I have photographed have been under grey skies with umbrellas. Georgie and Dan had downsized their Chelsea Old Town Hall summer wedding plans. Rather than a marquee and hordes or guests it was an intimate ‘family only’ group celebrating on the Kings road.
Best places in London to get Married
Georgie and Dan got married in The Brydon Room at The Old Chelsea Town Hall. As is the way during the pandemic the ceremony was short and sweet. Confetti followed on the steps of Chelsea Town Hall and London wedding taxis were ready to whisk everyone off to The River Cafe for the wedding reception. I took some natural unposed portraits of the wonderful couple as they made their way to the cabs. G and D didn’t want to pose for Mr and Mrs portraits – reportage all the way!

London has a number of fabulous Town Hall wedding venues. Chelsea Town Hall is perhaps the most famous and certainly has glam vibes. The Marry me in Chelsea wedding team run a tight ship. Once confetti had been thrown and a we had taken a few family groups on the steps it was Hammersmith wedding reception time. The River Cafe was ready and waiting, we were in for treat.

The River Cafe provided a stunning private dining wedding reception. Bespoke menus and cocktails greeted the guests. G & D and I nipped to the Thames for a stroll and portraits. There is something beautifully romantic about holding an umbrella for your newly minted bride. Its easy to become an amateur meteorologist in the lead up to a wedding. If you are on the hunt for a stylish wedding Reception venues in London then check out The Rosewood Hotel in Holborn. The Hurlingham Club, The Goring Hotel and The Town Hall Hotel are all spectacular, cool and super chic. If you want something more low key and ‘pubby’ then check out The Londesborough or The Peasant.
