Getting married in Bethnal Green Town Hall Hotel
A Bethnal Green Town Hall Hotel wedding is always a very chic affair. The Town Hall Hotel is unique in that it has a fab circular Council Chamber where couples tie the knot. From a photographers perspective the Town Hall Hotel is a gift for a cool East London wedding. The light flooding into the council chamber is very flattering and the adjoining Assembly Room is perfect for pre and post ceremony drinks. I have had the pleasure of photographing a good number of weddings at this stylish East London wedding venue. The De Montfort Suite is terrific for a smaller 50 ish wedding party and the Bethnal Hall can take far more and convert into bar and dance-floor areas too.

The Dundee Arms is a cracking East End pub and a terrific starting point for a Town Hall Hotel wedding. The Bethnal Green Town Hall Hotel provides a host of wonderful portrait opportunities. This can come in real handy if the wedding is in the winter or it’s blowing a gale outside. The Dundee Arms Pub is a 5 minute walk from Patriot Square. This wicked little pub is the perfect pre wedding spot for a thirsty groom and the fellas. The gritty Bethnal Green back streets are also a cool alternative Mr and Mrs wedding portrait location.

Magical mystery tour weddings that take you all over London in vintage double decker buses are one thing. A Town Hall Hotel wedding in Bethnal Green with everything happening under one fabulous roof is quite another. The convenience of a one venue wedding in London cannot be understated. Simon was an Aussie fella with a stack of mates who had flown into London for the wedding. He and Nicola had block booked a stack of rooms so his guests could stumble to bed at the end of the party, clever and considerate!

Bethnal Green is a cool and stylish borough of Tower Hamlets in Londons East End. 17 years ago I got married just round the corner from The Town Hall Hotel and called Bethnal Green my home. I have since moved to Stoke Newington but still love a visit to Bethnal Green. The Town Hall Hotel has a fabulous cocktail bar and restaurant thats well worth a date night visit regardless of wedding plans. If you are planning an urban wedding in East London and want to embrace the graffiti then The Town Hall Hotel might be just the luxury joint for you. Nicola, Simon and I went for a little stroll after the wedding ceremony for some Mr and Mrs portraits. I found a cute (slightly grubby but undeniably cool and gritty back street) cobbled yard perfect for a portrait. Nicola has requested a location that really popped against her stunning frock and also told a story about where she had tied the knot.
