Central London Wedding Venues

Steph and Dave have just tied the knot at Asia House in Central London and it was bloomin’ marvellous. I’ve been in touch with this lovely couple for three years now as Covid scuppered their previous wedding attempts. Finally we had a Spring 2023 date booked and we stuck to it! Asia House is on New Cavendish Street in Central London, slap bang in the middle of the Westend. The cool London wedding venue is very close to Oxford Circus and Regents Street. The Edwardian Town House venue is super stylish and managed by the Westminster wedding team A Day to Remember.

Dave and Steph had around 100 guests invited to the wedding ceremony. We had typical spring weather, rain followed by sunshine. The gorgeous Fine Room at Asia House has huge windows that flood the room with natural light. On a personal note I love photographing weddings at Asia House because of the space, there’s room to breath. Also, the stair case is awesome and the staff super friendly! The ceremony was quick and slick, the registrars at A Day To Remember are always on point.

Getting Married in Asia House

I have been photographing London Weddings for many years and know Asia House well. Stephanie and Dave introduced a new element to their London Westend Wedding, the blessing of the wedding rings. The best-man passed the wedding bands around all the guests asking each guests to think a happy thought about the lives of the happy couple. This was such a nice touch and was going while the ceremony took place. After the ceremony all the guests moved to the adjoining room for a champagne reception. We took the opportunity to take some fun family group pictures on the steps outside Asia House, successfully dodging the rain. While the guests enjoyed celebrating with glasses of bubbles, the bride groom and I nipped off for some portraits.

London Documentary Wedding Photographer

Wedding portraits at Asia House are always a treat. New Cavendish Street is off Regents Street and very close to Oxford Circus, all very stylish. I love the cobbled mews and cute back streets around Asia House and often suggest a stroll after the wedding. I prefer not to ask a couple to pose for their portraits so a short walk somewhere pretty enables me to grab a relaxed and natural portrait and enables the couple to decompress after the ceremony. On this beautiful spring day the father of the bride had made an illicit break for the pub which happened to be 1 minute walk from the venue. Steph, Dave and I only noticed the splinter group while doing a circuit of Asia House for portraits. We all piled in for a sneaky half, a wonderful opportunity for more of my documentary style wedding photography.

The Edinboro Castle Camden Pub Wedding Reception

A vintage Route Master bus carried all the wedding guests to Camden Town and The Edinboro Castle Pub. The Edinboro Castle Pub is an institution in Camden. The Camden Pub has retained all the Victorian pub style and also has a huge beer garden. The food is restaurant quality and there’s plenty of space. Because Asia House doesn’t allow confetti we saved everything for the pub! The bride and groom entered their Camden Pub wedding reception in a cloud of confetti and celebrations. Drinks, dinner and speeches followed. The rain really set in but didn’t effect the wedding a the beer garden is covered. A fun pub quizz had been devised and cocktails flowed. Before long the cake was cut and the music started. I floated through the party capturing lovely moments and enjoying the energy.

I left the party late in the evening, dance-floor packed and drinks flowing. If all my 2023 weddings are this much fun I’m in for a treat this year!
