Wedding Reception at The Peasant Pub in Clerkenwell
Ross and Jennie chose the historic Islington Town Hall for their wedding day with the wedding reception hosted by The Peasant Pub in Clerkenwell EC1. Although the rain was coming down, spirits were high when I met Ross, family and guests at The Tap Room, a bar on Islington’s Upper Street. Ross looked suitably dapper with button hole attached and before long he and his best-man made the short walk under a brolly to the Council Chamber at Islington Town Hall.

Jennie arrived with her father at Islington Town Hall in a black cab looking absolute dynamite. With guests seated and Ross waiting patiently, Jennie walked gracefully down the aisle to tie the knot.
Cheers and celebrations resounded as the new Mr and Mrs exited the Council Chamber. After a short and fun portrait session on the stunning marble staircase and a few nice family portraits, we all set off in a vintage red double decker bus to the Peasant Pub in Clerkenwells’s EC1 – a ten minute journey at most.
Islington Pub Wedding Reception Venues
The Peasant Pub in Clerkenwell is the sister pub to The Londesborough in Stoke Newington. I have had the great pleasure of capturing quite a few weddings at this awesome venue – the food, staff and vibe are all bang on. Due to the heavy rain the usual confetti moment on Islington Town Hall steps was missed, so very kindly the Peasant allowed an indoor confetti shower for the lovely couple. Dinner was served in the function room above the bar and kicked off with early speeches. Wedding speeches are always a highlight of the day and the groom went down an absolute storm – genuinely hilarious, what a dark horse!

The Peasant Pub wedding team really know their stuff. Rain stopped confetti on the steps on the steps of Islington Town Hall so The Peasant team just let the confetti happen inside, fantastic idea! I’m sure the clean up job must have been horrendous so big thanks for letting this confetti storm happen. The menu at The Peasant is awesome, proper delish food. I usually grab a bite to eat during the main course so I consider myself something of an expert on wedding grub! After dinner and cake cutting, the DJ kicked off with all the bangers and the dance-floor filled up.
