Fitzrovia Chapel Wedding Photographer

Charlotte and Jon made two magnificent wedding venue choices in The Fitzrovia Chapel and Bentley’s Oyster Bar. This was a very London wedding. The Fitzrovia Chapel is tucked away behind Goodge Street, 5 minutes from Oxford Circus. Bentley’s Oyster Bar is on Swallow Street, close to Green Park Tube and Hyde Park. The tiny Fitzrovia Chapel is a hidden gem, architecturally stunning with a gorgeous interior. The chapel is mostly light by candle light and dark and romantic even on a bright summers day. There is a lovely balcony which provides a wonderful photography platform and an alternate view.

Stunning Central London Wedding Churches and Chapels

There were 50 or so guests at this Fitzrovia Chapel wedding. Its not a big chapel with very little standing room so 50 guests was about perfect. The wedding went by in a flash and was both beautiful and emotional. Although The Fitzrovia Chapel looks very churchy its actually never been consecrated so think of it as an event space rather than a religious building. Charlotte looks dynamite as she walked down the aisle with her dapper father.

Getting married in Fitzrovia Chapel

After the ceremony a champagne drinks reception was held and the chairs were moved away. During the drinks the bride, groom and I nipped off for a stroll and some portraits. The chapel itself is a wonderful back drop and we also wanted to take in a few of the pretty London streets. Newman Passage links Newman Street with Charlotte Street and has a Dickensian feel to it, with graffiti! I rarely ask a couple to pose for their pictures and so it was that Charlotte and Jon enjoyed a wander in London while I captured some natural portraits.

Bentley’s Oyster Bar Wedding Reception

Charlotte added a fab faux fur to her wedding look and we all hopped cabs to Bentley’s Oyster Bar just off Regents Street. Fine dining at Bentley’s Oyster Bar is always a treat and the private space downstairs looked super stylish. Drinks and celebrations followed with dinner and speeches. The bar knocked out fabulous cocktails and the canapes were delish. I often grab a bite during the main course at a wedding and Bentley’s Oyster Bar provided me with a steak that made my top 5…ever! The downstairs fine dining area of Bentley’s Oyster Bar is dark with warm pools of light. I don’t like over using flash photography, killing the romantic vibe. Just a tickle of flash every now and again is the answer. I was able to float about the party and capture natural moments.

Award Winning London Documentary Wedding Photography

I left the fun party late that evening and made my way back home to Hackney. Not that I need reminding but I love a London Westend Wedding. The Fitzrovia Chapel and Bentley’s Oyster Bar combined to make a wonderful wedding, happy days. Are you on the hunt for a documentary wedding photographer?
