Emma & Stefan – Rosewood Hotel Wedding
A wonderful winter wedding this one, with a thoroughly festive feel. Emma and Stefan chose the Rosewood Hotel in Holborn, central London for their day. I loved the Rosewood’s combination of old world charm (open fires, wood panelling, staff in tweed – great!) and faultless service. Emma and Stefan lucked out with clear blue skies and dazzling sunshine – always a welcome sight on a wedding day, even more so in December. I arrived for some pre-wedding shots as Emma was having her hair and make up done and looking very relaxed, with natural light flooding the room.
As Stefan arrived I was on hand to capture discrete images of the family and friends meeting and greeting. Nobody dawdled too long outside in the cold as the Scarfes Bar with its open fires and snug atmosphere tempted everyone inside for a pre wedding tipple.
I love a hotel wedding where everything is based within one location – particularly in winter. The Ball Room was decked out in suitably festive flowers – great attention to detail. The wedding went off without a hitch and after a quick (ish) family portrait session we took a moment for bride and groom portraiture. Utterly spoilt for choice with portrait locations we ended up taking 15 minutes or so and doing a little tour while the guests enjoyed glasses of bubbles and canapes. The day finished with a series of great speeches – funny, heartfelt and emotional and then a whopper of a party, the dance floor was full from the moment the band took to the stage.
Big thanks to both Emma and Stefan for commissioning me to shoot their wedding and I wish them a happy Christmas and all the very best in the future.
