London Luxury Hotel Wedding

Emma and Stefan chose the luxury Rosewood Hotel in Holborn in central London for their Christmas wedding. I love the Rosewood Hotel’s old world charm. There are open fires and acres of wood panelling. The staff are stylish in tweed with faultless attention to detail. This luxury Rosewood Hotel Wedding was a wonderful festive celebration. The day started in the Garden Suite with Emma and the bridal party getting ready. Bottles of bubbles were popping and the excitement was building.

London Luxury 5 Star Hotel Weddings

Emma and Stefan lucked out with clear blue skies and dazzling sunshine. This is always a welcome sight on a London wedding day, even more so in December. The stylish groom arrived in black tie. Tuxedo weddings are increasingly popular, I’m a fan. I was on hand to photograph discrete and unposed reportage of the family and friends meeting and greeting. I love to float about a party capturing natural and unposed pictures. Nobody dawdled too long outside in the cold. The Scarfes Bar with its open fires and snug atmosphere tempted everyone inside for a pre wedding tipple, mulled wine and hot toddies, happy days.

Award Winning London Documentary Wedding Photographer

I love a London luxury hotel wedding where everything is based within one location, particularly in winter! The Ball Room was decked out in suitably festive flowers. The attention to detail is fabulous, as you would expect from a five star luxury hotel. You cannot visit Rosewood Hotel with out marvelling at the amazing marble staircase. Fun Rosewood fact; in the 1970’s the marble staircase used to be entirely carpeted, including the bannisters. ‘Wetherspoons style’ pub carpet was literally glued onto the marble so no marble was visible, crackers! Emma and her father gracefully descended the stairs to main Ballroom for the wedding ceremony. The wedding went off without a hitch and after a quick, pre organised family portrait session we took a moment for bride and groom portraiture. The main reception worked well for family group photography. Although The Rosewood Hotel was open to paying guests during the wedding the amazing staff were able to keep the reception clear for me for 15 minutes or so.

Christmas Wedding in London Luxury Hotel

I was utterly spoilt for choice with portrait locations. We ended up taking 15 minutes or so and doing a little tour of The Rosewood while the guests enjoyed glasses of bubbles and canapes. A relaxed stroll for Mr and Mrs portraits, away from the wedding guests is always a good idea. The Christmas trees and fairy lights provided Emma and Stefan a perfect back drop for their portraits. The wedding day finished with a series of great speeches. The wedding speeches were funny, heartfelt and emotional. I always try to capture guests reactions to speeches, a highlight to any wedding. The Rosewood Hotel in Holborn really know how to throw a party. The band started and the dance floor was full into the early hours.
