St. Bartholomews Church Smithfield Wedding
As one of London’s oldest and grandest churches, a wedding at St.Bartholomew The Great is always a real treat. Add to the mix Finsbury Town Hall for the reception, a fabulous bride and an awesome groom and you have all the makings of an absolute belter of a wedding. I met Michelle and her many, many bridesmaids at The Hilton on Islington’s Upper Street. The sun was shining, the odd bottle of fizz was doing the rounds and all was happy and calm.

Fox and Anchor Pub Wedding Photographe
My next stop was for Luke and the fellas who were enjoying a pre wedding pint or two in one of my favourite London pubs, The Fox & Anchor. This discrete old school boozer is tucked away behind Smithfield Market and has an original Victorian interior, great menu too. I walked over to the church through Smithfield Market with Luke and the boys, and was ready for Michelle’s arrival in a stunning vintage car.
Best Clerkenwell Wedding Reception Venues
A fantastic choir sung as the bridal party made their way to front of the church and the wedding went without a hitch. After a quick family portrait session in front of two London Double Decker buses, the guests all made their way to Finsbury Town Hall for the reception leaving the bride and groom and I to stay for some relaxed and easy portraits. The cobbled back streets of Smithfield work well for a relaxed stroll and Mr and Mrs portraits.
Amazing Islington Wedding Reception Venues
Finsbury Town Hall is a wonderful wedding reception venue, a huge ball room ornately decorated (think Music Hall circa 19th Century). There is and a decent sized annex room perfect for drinks and a bar which also has a piano. After a great meal and some hilarious and at times moving speeches, Michelle and Luke took to the dance floor for an impressive first dance. There was even a lift straight out of Dirty Dancing, super impressive. I left the party in full swing and would like to thank both Michelle and Luke for making me so welcome, I wish them all the very best in the future.
