The Sofitel Hotel in the St. James area of London is a 5 star luxury wedding venue. Fabulous architecture and a sophisticated interior make the Sofitel Hotel one of my fave London wedding reception venues. Hyde Park is a two minute walk from the hotel, very useful for Mr & Mrs portraits.
Getting Married at The Sofitel St. James Hotel
Every iconic wedding venue needs a talented wedding planning team. The wedding team at The Sofitel in London St.James really know their stuff. I was privileged to work with the Sofitel wedding planning team during Heather and Hideki’s Sofitel Hotel London wedding. Their attention to detail and a professional touch are the difference between adequate service and a 5 star hotel service. Westminster has plenty of fabulous wedding venues and wedding reception venues but The Sofitel Hotel is right up there in the top ten.
Westminster Luxury Hotel Wedding Venues
I met Heather while in the final stages of pre wedding prep. Hair and make up was well on the way and the stunning wedding dress was hanging stylishly in her suite. Hideki, looking super dapper was with his family meeting and greeting guests in the hotel lobby. The ceremony room was stunning, crammed with fresh flowers. The service went by in a flash. As the newly weds walked back up the aisle together confetti was thrown by guests. Indoor confetti is always a particularly nice touch.

The main entrance to The Sofitel Hotel is on Waterloo Place. To the left of the main entrance are some lovely wide stone steps, perfect for a group picture of all the guests followed by some family group portraiture. Heather and Hideki and I then went on a lovely little trot around the cobbled back streets for some low key Mr and Mrs portraits. Nothing posed, just a fun meander around St.James as the sun set.

Dinner and speeches followed in the stunning ball room. A great game of Bingo started which was hilarious. With a few language issues the rules were just about kept to! The Sofitel has plenty of space so there is no need for lengthy room turn arounds. I left the lovely couple on the dance-floor, poor Hideki looking slightly frazzled as he had only arrived from Japan that morning! A huge thank you goes out the bride and groom for making me so welcome and also to Sephora and her team for working tirelessly throughout the day and night.
