London Belgravia Wedding photographer
Maria and Andrew chose The Goring Hotel to host their fabulous luxury hotel wedding reception. I have had the great pleasure of photographing a number of weddings at The Goring Hotel and feel privileged to be on their preferred supplier list. There is no shortage of luxury five star in hotels London. The Goring Hotel in Belgravia is right up there on my favourites list. Belgravia, a short walk from London Victoria Station is a beautiful and wealthy area of Westminster. This 5 star hotel sits perfectly in the affluent streets and has significant Royal connections. But, before we arrived to The Goring Hotel for the wedding reception there was the small detail of the actual wedding!
St. John’s Wood – Catholic Church of our Lady Wedding Photographer
I met Maria in the final stages of wedding hair and make-up, her dress hanging ready and the excitement building. The Catholic Church of our Lady in St. John’s Wood conducted the wedding ceremony, not far away from her hotel in Swiss Cottage. Andrew, her husband to be looked suitably dapper and was meeting and greeting guests outside the church. As wedding guests arrived I floated about photographing the excitement in my usual natural, unobtrusive style. You can learn a little more about My Style of wedding photography here.
London Church Wedding Photographer
This was a classic traditional London Church wedding. Both the bride and groom wanted a full mass alongside their wedding ceremony and some of the ‘greatest hits’ for hymns. I had met the priest before the service and leant the ‘house rules’ for wedding photography in his church. House rules for weddings in churches usually consist of staying to the periphery of the church and not straying beyond the priest and alter. I never use flash as it is distracting. The wedding ceremony was emotional and before long Maria and Andrew were ready for confetti and celebrations.
Luxury London Hotel Wedding
Taxis ferried all the guests across London to The Goring Hotel for the wedding reception. Doorman were were on hand on our arrival to open cab doors and generally make everyone feel like a celebrity! The bride and groom were keen on a few portraits in and around the Goring while their guests enjoyed bubbles and canapes. The main bar at The Goring is magnificent. Maria had requested a photograph of her and Andrew enjoying a cheeky drink before we had a little wander around the gardens. I much prefer a low key, natural approach to wedding photography which suited Maria and Andrew chilled out wedding plans.
Best Central London Luxury Hotel Wedding Venues
The Garden Room at The Goring was looking gorgeous. Candles were light and the doors were open onto the manicured gardens. Wedding guests were enjoying the late summer warm evening and Cosmopolitans were being mixed in industrial quantities! There is a Michelin Starred chef at The Goring so the wedding breakfast was amazing. I took a moment to grab a bite and refuel during the main course so got to enjoy some delish dins too. The staff at The Goring run a very tight ship and are always one step ahead of the plans. Drinks were already on a silver platter when Maria and Andrew arrived and a master of ceremony announced the lovely couple into the dining room. The wedding speeches are always a high light of any wedding. I love to photograph guests reactions to wedding speeches, my cameras are more often than not pointed away from the speaker. There was a wedding cake to cut and dancing to be done. A talented musical duo arrived to get the dancing started and I left the wedding reception with the dance-floor packed.
