St Etheldredas Church wedding

Best London Church Wedding Venues

I had the great pleasure of photographing this wedding at St.Etheldreda’s Church near Holborn in Farringdon. A huge stain glass windows and a fab balcony make St. Etheldredas a wonderful London Catholic wedding venue. Similar to St. Bartholomews Church in Smithfield, St.Etheldredas dates back to 1250 making it London’s oldest Catholic Church.

Natural and unposed London Documentary Wedding Photographer

If you are looking for a central London church wedding venue, St.Etheldredas is hard to beat. The natural light inside the church is stunning having been filtered through the stain glass windows. Winter weddings are candle light and romantic. Behind St.Etheldreda’s is one of London’s oldest pubs Ye Olde Mitre. This tiny but perfectly formed pub is perfect for a pre wedding tipple and guest meeting point. The church is located on its own private road although vintage wedding buses are not able to navigate the tight entrance.

The Crypt Ely Place Wedding Reception

The Crypt in Ely Place is directly beneath St.Etheldreda’s. This is a fave wedding reception venue and particularly convenient if you get married upstairs! If you are panning your own St.Etheldreda’s Catholic Church wedding then drop me a line, I would love to hear from you.
