Small Family Wedding in Angel suite at Islington Town Hall
Fran and Andrew got married in the Angel Suite at Islington Town Hall. Their small, family only micro wedding was ‘the legal part’ of a more elaborate wedding planned for later in the year. Andrew’s wonderful mum booked me to photograph the occasion, I was a gift! I arrived to the North London Town Hall in good time to capture the arrival of the stylish couple. It’s April, the skies are clear and spring is in the air.
Micro Weddings in Borough of Islington
The Angel Suite is the smallest of Islington Town Hall’s various rooms. The room is only big enough for the couple, two witnesses and a couple of registrars. This means there’s no actual photography of the wedding ceremony itself, I waited outside on the magnificent marble staircase. Once the couple had tied the knot the three of us used the gorgeous interior for some portraits before exiting to confetti and cheers outside.

The Angel Suite is tiny therefore Fran and Andrews families waited outside Islington Town Hall with confetti. I’m always on hand to gently and quietly coordinate guests for confetti. We went straight into some fun family portraits on the main steps before taking a stroll to Trullo in Highbury.
Wedding Reception at Trullo in Highbury
Trullo is a stylish Italian restaurant in Highbury, a 10-minute walk from the Town Hall. I’ve always enjoyed the walk between Islington Town Hall and Trullo. The walking route is easy and meanders through a park and a Regency Terrace. The stroll is stunning for natural and unposed portraits, perfect to sit alongside the more static portraits from the Town Hall.
Highbury Documentary Wedding Photographer
I’ve had the great pleasure to photograph a number of private dining wedding receptions at Trullo. This cool venue has a cute private dining space downstairs, perfect for twenty people or so. Once the wedding party had arrived and found their seats I said my farewells and left the fun bunch to enjoy amazing food.
