Jones & Sons Dalston Wedding Reception // Tilly & Wilym

Islington Town Hall Wedding Photographer

Tilly and Wilym got married in Islington Town Hall and partied hard in Dalston later that day. I had the great pleasure of documenting all the fun and emotions. Islington Town Hall is one of my fave London Town Halls. Say I Do Islington manage the weddings at this Town Hall. I regularly photograph weddings at Islington Town Hall and I know the venue and various rooms intimately. The Council Chamber, (the largest and grandest of the Town Halls room options) hosted this autumnal wedding. I started my day at The Vineyard pub bang opposite, on Upper Street where Wil and family met pre wedding.

Tilly, her sisters and a  gang of bridesmaids all arrived to Islington Town Hall in a hilarious stretched Hummer. I was on hand for this fun moment. Other guests were dashing across the road from the pub, never a good look to arrive after the bride! The Islington Town Hall Council Chamber was full to the rafters. Tilly walked in with her father and looked absolute dynamite.

East London Town Hall Wedding

The wedding ceremony went by super quickly and before long the guests were waiting for the newly minted Mr and Mrs to emerge for confetti and cheers. While the guests got themselves arranged I stayed with Tilly and Wil for some relaxed portraits using the marble corridor and magnificent and ornate staircase. We were soon all aboard the double decker to Jones & Sons – amazing food and cocktails waiting in Dalston in Hackney.

Jones & Sons, Stamford Works, 3 Gillett Street, N16 8JH

Jones & Sons is a cool and stylish bar and restaurant in Dalston, East London. The restaurant is in a converted factory in Gillett Square; home to the legendary Dalston Jazz Bar. The main restaurant space is open with a long bar running the length of the room. There is a cute decked area to the front of Jones & Sons strung with fairy lights and out-door seating. In the evening this area is a favourite of mine for a portrait as the light is warm and flattering. Wil and Tilly walked across Gillett Square from Stoke Newington High Street. I was on hand for a discrete and natural portrait. Both the bride and groom were keen on a low key approach to their wedding photography. Thats just My Style.

Jones and Sons Restaurant Wedding Photographer

The staff are amazing at Jones and Sons. There were delish canapes and cocktails ready and waiting for the wedding party. I floated about the party paying attention to the details, the place setting and flowers etc. Guests were chatting and Tilly and Wil circulating through the restaurant. There’s an excellent adjoining room at Jones & Sons, perfect for a DJ to set up in. There’s also a neat little cocktail bar in the same room which was already prepped with Martini Espresso’s and Dark and Stormy’s. As guests began to take their seats for dinner I nipped out with Tilly and her girls for some fun pictures. Wil joined and accidentally got involved, he’s a big lad so getting picked up by the bridal party was no easy feat!

Best Dalston Wedding Reception Venues

The speeches were emotional and amusing in equal measure. Before long the whole wedding party moved through to the dance-floor. I left the awesome party in full swing.
