Clissold House Wedding Ceremonies
Emily and Allan got married in Clissold House in Stoke Newington. The wedding day kicked off at The Rose and Crown, an excellent pub with stylish guests’ rooms and a terrace above. The Rose and Crown N16 is very close to Clissold Park which makes it a popular starting point for Stoke Newington weddings. The wonderful couple were wanting a low-key documentary wedding photographer to capture their big day and a year or so before we had met up and chatted through their plans. It’s amazing how quickly a year can pass so it was with great pleasure that I walked into The Rose and Crown, cameras in hand and a smile on my face.
Rose and Crown N16 Pub Wedding Photographer
Allan and his close group of pals were meeting and greeting guests. Buttonholes were attached, no old style pins for this outfit but rather magnets to attach to lapels (neat and tidy but in truth, fell off all day!). I mentioned how convenient the Rose and Crown N16 pub is for a Stoke Newington wedding. For a Clissold House wedding its bloomin’ perfect. After a half or two in the Rose and Crown Pub Allan and his gang walked over to Clissold House, an easy 2 minute walk through Clissold Park.
Clissold House Stoke Newington Wedding Venue
Clissold House is a large 18th Century Mansion House. The stylish East London wedding venue is set in Clissold Park, a beautiful green space in Stoke Newington. I’ve had the great pleasure of photographing a number of fab weddings at Clissold House. The building has had a recent refurb and paint job and is looking pretty. A spiral staircase is a gorgeous feature of Clissold House. Coupled with light and bright rooms, all with polished wooden floors and huge Edwardian sash windows, Clissold House is a wonderful wedding space. Hackney Venues looks after Clissold House along with their other chic venues including Hackney Town Hall, The Glass House in Springfield Park and their newest addition The Abney Park Chapel.
Best London Mansion House Wedding Venues
Emily arrived to the gates of Clissold Park with her excellent looking bridal party. There is a pretty little walk through the rose garden to get to Clissold House. Guests were taking their seats and a talented musical duo added to the excitement. The wedding ceremony was a delight, full of love and emotion. We all soon emerged into sunshine and confetti on the steps of Clissold House.
Natural and Unposed Wedding Portraits in Clissold Park
As the guests enjoyed drinks on the terrace the bride, groom and I went for a little walk around park for some natural and unposed portraits. A leisurely stroll after the wedding ceremony is a welcome moment of calm, a chance for the couple to take a breath.
The Londesborough Pub Stoke Newington Wedding Reception
The Londesborough Pub, 36, Barbauld Road, Stoke Newington, London. N16 0SS
The Londesborough Pub is a very popular wedding reception venue. There’s a simple reason for this…its bloody brilliant. The food is delish, the staff are welcoming and professional and the interior space is perfect for 100 or so guests. The entire wedding party walked the 10 minutes from Clissold House to The Londesborough. When we all arrived I gently organised a fun ‘everyone’ picture outside the pub.

Dinner and speeches followed. As the sun was setting a few tables were expertly removed and a dance-floor created. During this short break guests used the rear garden or grabbed cocktails and sat out the front.
Most Popular Wedding Reception Venues in Hackney East London
The talented masical duo had stayed with the wedding party playing accoustic numbers in the Londesbrough Pub garden. The twosome were now joined by the full band and the evening music started. A packed dance-floor for the rest of the night!
