Hackney Town Hall Committee Room Wedding Ceremony

A wedding day, at its core is a simple celebration of a couple tying the knot surrounded by loved ones. Laura and Seb hired Hackney Town Hall’s The Committee Room for the wedding ceremony. The Londesborough Pub in Stoke Newington hosted the wonderful wedding reception. This combination of venues works beautifully. If you’re after a stress free wedding with a ton of fun then read on as Seb and Laura nailed it!

The Old Ship Pub is a 2 minute walk from Hackney Town Hall. The pub is very cool, does great food and ticks all the pre wedding pub boxes. Seb and the fellas didn’t meet here, they met at the Spoons round the corner. Baxters Court  is a huge Wetherspoon’s on Mare Street, bang opposite Hackney Town Hall. Irritatingly the Old Ship Pub doesn’t open till midday so the dapper gents bravely soldiered on with early pints of Guinness and sticky carpets, this was St. Patricks day after all.

While Seb had his short interview before the wedding Laura arrived with her bridal party. Laura looks fabulous, I mean absolute dynamite. The Committee Rooms at The Hackney Town Hall are one of a several options for an East London Wedding. There are wooden panelled walls and huge windows letting in tons of natural light. On a selfish note, I love the Committee Rooms at Hackney Town Hall because I can move around the room easily without impacting on the wedding.  There’s plenty of space.

Confetti and portraits at Hackney Town Hall

The exterior steps at the Town Hall are perfect for confetti and family group portraits. After the wedding ceremony the guests made their way outside ready to throw a confetti storm Laura and Sebs way. I am always on hand to gently coordinate a big group photograph moment. When everyone was in place  I nipped back to the Committee Rooms where Seb and Laura were waiting. The short walk through the Town Hall is perfect from some unposed portraits, the stylish Art Deco interior and grand stair case made for a wonderful back drop.

Wedding Portraits at Hackney Town Hall

After confetti and some fun family groups on the exterior steps of the Iconic East London Town Hall we nipped off for some Mr and Mrs portraits. There are some cute cobbled alleys and the trees were in full blossom. Laura and Seb enjoyed a quiet moment was from their party as we did a lap of the Town Hall.

The Londesborough Pub Hackney Wedding Reception

Before long it was vintage bus time as The Londesborough Pub were expecting us for the wedding reception. The bus journey was fun, an ice bucket full of M&S gin and tonic’s was passed around. The team at The Londesborough were on hand when we arrived with glasses of fizz and delish canapes. I floated about the party. I always pay particular attention to the small but important details that into a wedding day. The cake, stationary and table settings  etc all elevate a wedding and need to be recorded.

Dinner and speeches were soon the order of the day. The DJ kicked off the dancing later in the evening and I left the party in full swing an hour or so after the first dance. Seb and Laura were super chilled and planned a clever and achievable  wedding day schedule. It was a pleasure to be a part of their celebrations and they have their pictures.
