harrow great barn wedding photographer 0003

Harrow Great Barn is surrounded by parkland, a cricket club and cutesy rivers with romantic bridges. I guarantee you want to get married there, why wouldn’t you. The Great Barn at Harrow is ancient and has a ton of interesting back stories but as a North West London Wedding Venue it ticks all the boxes. There is bags of room for 100 plus seated dining leaving space for a generous dance-floor. The manicured grounds suit al fresco drinks with plenty of room to wander and celebrate. I am a low key and pretty relaxed London documentary wedding photographer so photographing a Harrow Great Barn wedding is always a pleasure.

Harrow Great Barn Jewish Wedding Ceremony Photographer

The bride and groom (Suzanne and Steve) are based in the US, specifically Los Angeles but Suzanne has her roots in Harrow, plus a ton of family. The Great Barn hosted the traditional Jewish wedding ceremony, the large doors left open as it was a hot day. The ceremony was beautiful, heartfelt and emotional. This was a tight knit family celebration, the London contingent bringing the noise in fabulous style. The bride and groom were not overly fussed with any formal family groups and really wanted a lovely record of the day, exactly my favourite documentary style. We did however nip to the gardens behind the Harrow Great Barn for a super speedy portrait session. This was a welcome breather for Suzanne as it was a hot day for mingling!

While wedding guests were enjoying cocktails and cold drinks I was able to float about the party. I enjoy photographing those little moments that can often get missed by the bride and groom. Because of the the size of The Great Barn there is no need to empty the building to rearrange the seating etc. Dinner was already set up and ready to go before the ceremony took place. It was therefore super easy for everyone to take their drinks inside and prepare for the banquet and the speeches. Steve circulated around the various tables pouring a shots of whiskey for a toasts. A mic had been set up and wedding speeches commenced. A particular highlight was when all three daughters rose and said a few words – emotions were high, not a dry eye in the house – truly beautiful.

Barn Weddings in North London

You cant have a Jewish Wedding without dancing, and this couple had Dancing with a capital D! A talented band got the room shaking and Suzanne and Steve found themselves hoisted up on chairs for the Horah. The energy expended on this dance-floor was bonkers, it was such fun to photograph. The party went on late into the evening, I left with the dance-floor packed and cocktail bar 4 people deep! Huge congrats to the bride and groom and massive thanks to the staff at The Great Barn in Harrow for running such a tight ship. No wedding runs this smoothly without talented coordinators in the back ground and Harrow Great Barn has the best in the biz.
