Islington Church Wedding Photographer
Jon and Tong chose St.James Church in Islington for their wedding. I photograph many Islington weddings, mostly in the Town Hall so it was a real treat to be in St.James Church. I arrived to meet Tong in the final stages of wedding prep. The bride looked sizzling in her wedding dress. There were parents on hand to look after the couples toddler and all was looking peachy on this summers day. The groom arranged to meet the wedding guests a pub local to St. James Church in Islington. A cheeky pint of Guinness always helps the wedding nerves!

St. James Church is in Arlington Square, a pretty area behind Upper Street in Islington. The wedding ceremony included a full mass so took an hour or so. There were beautiful hymns and a talented choir and finally Jon and Tong emerged into confetti and celebrations. There are a lovely gardens around the church that provide a useful space for family group photography. A vintage Route Master Bus was on hand to whisk the wedding partyy to Russell Square and a Chinese Restaurant wedding reception.

The bus journey between the wedding at St. James Church in Islington and Russell Square was great fun. We arrived to Russell Square and the China City Chinese Restaurant Wedding Reception. The wedding guests were greeted with drinks and canapes while the bride and groom (and their gorgeous child) nipped off for some portraits. The bride had miraculously managed to change outfit into a traditional Chinese Kimonos and looked dynamite. We all returned China City for fun speeches and some fun traditional Chinese wedding reception rituals. These rituals were mostly eating various pungent foods while blindfolded and washing them down with potent shots of alcohol.
