Booking an Old Marylebone Town Hall Wedding Photographer

Joey and Rob got married at Old Marylebone Town Hall in Westminster. This glam couple work in the aviation sector and travel the world. They chose Westminster in London to host their fabulous wedding yours truly to document all the fun. The wedding plans took in many of Westminsters iconic venues including Park Lane, The Old Marylebone Town Hall and The Houses of Parliament. I met Joey and wonderful team of bridesmaids on Park Lane at The Marriot Hotel. A very excited Joey had planned a magical tour of London in a vintage red double decker. She was wearing a fairy tale wedding dress and looked dynamite.

I have had the great pleasure of photographing many weddings at The old Marylebone Town Hall. The Westminster Room is the largest of the Town hall wedding rooms, holding 100 or so guests. Rob was waiting patiently with friends and family for Joey to arrive. The groom looked suitably dapper, the stage was set for a wonderful wedding day. The wedding ceremony went by in a flash. A wedding certificate was signed and within half an hour J & R became husband and wife. As the guests made their way outside to the iconic steps of Old Marylebone Town Hall, Joey, Rob and I stayed behind for some fun portraits. The wooden panelled, marble corridors of the Marylebone Town hall are stunning for portraiture. The grand marble stair case isn’t too shabby either! Confetti and celebrations awaited the couple on the steps along with a fun vintage bus ride to their wedding reception in Black Heath.

Award Winning London Wedding Photographer

The steps of Old Marylebone Town Hall are perfectly suited for confetti and family group portraits. I am a London documentary wedding photographer but most weddings have a small formal portrait element. There are huge neo classical columns at The Old Marylebone Town Hall which I often use for bride and groom portraits. The A Day To Remember team always have a huge flower arrangements outside the main Town Hall doors so the columns are always a number one portrait spot. Some couples are mega emotional and cling to each other, some couples dislike PDA’s and are more restrained. Rob and Joey definitely fell in the first group!

Best Westminster Wedding Venues

A Day To Remember is the company that run Westminster Wedding venues including the iconic Old Marylebone Town Hall. I’ve had the pleasure of photographing at a number of Westminster wedding venues including The Goring Hotel in Victoria and St. Ermins Hotel, just around the corner in St. James. Westminster has a ton of stunning old cobbled streets, very Dickensian that are perfect for classic London wedding portraits. City weddings are super popular and I love photographing them! The Vintage Red Double Decker wedding bus took the entire wedding party to the first pit stop on The Thames. The happy couple wanted a portrait with The Houses of Parliament in the back ground. Once upon a time a bus could stop on Westminster Bridge for a quick portrait with Big Ben. Sadly those days are gone so the next best place is the South end of Lambeth Bridge. The views over The Thames of The Houses of Parliament and Big Ben are gorgeous and the bus is allowed to park for a short time.

Booking A Westminster Documentary Wedding Photographer

A clever tip for a long (ish) wedding bus trip is a decent supply of food and Prosecco. The bus journey from Old Marylebone Town Hall through London and finishing in Black Heath took an hour and half. The Air BnB wedding reception venue in Balck Heath was on the edge of the Heath. Black Heath had some lovely over grown areas which looked a bit wild, perfect for an evening stroll the new Mr and Mrs. As the sun went down Joey and Rob walked through the long grass to their waiting friends and family. I like to use a long lens in times like these so the broide and groom have some privacy. I like a natural and unposed portrait so I left J and R to chat, laugh and kiss with no real direction from me. Joey removed her high heels and carried them which looked super cool in the portraits. Rob was keen for more kissing and Joey obliged. We arrived to the wedding reception, more cheering and plenty of drinks. I left the party in full flow and would like to thank both Joey and Rob for making so welcome.
