adam and eve pub mill hill wedding photographer 016

Eleanor and Yannick chose the The Adam and Eve Pub in Mill Hill Village North London for their wedding and wedding reception. The Adam and Eve Pub is a lovely looking traditional pub with a nice beer garden and a function room upstairs. I quite regularly photograph wedding receptions in London Pubs; The Londesborough in N16, The Peasant in EC1 and The Gun on the Isle of Dogs are always a treat. I don’t often photograph full wedding ceremonies in pubs so it was a treat to have the registrars come to us. The Function room at The Adam and Eve Pub in Mill Hill has a nice feel to it. There are wooden floors throughout and a shabby chic vibe. The space was ready for the ceremony with 50 or so seated guests.

Yannick the groom arrived with his fellas looking super dapper in a kilt. Wedding guests were enjoying the bar as button holes were attached and the excitement built. I was floating around the pub photographing natural and unposed moments in a mix of colour and black and white. One of the things I love most about wedding photography and weddings in general is families and friends getting together, often after long periods of time. The excitement of family reunions is magic and I love to be on hand to photograph it. Eleanor arrived with her daughter and was whisked upstairs for a quick interview while the guests took their seats. I like to stay in the periphery of a room during the wedding ceremony. I try to stay out of eye-lines and impact as little as possible on a wedding. The wedding went smoothly and was cute and emotional.

The Adam and Eve Pub in Mill Hill is a bit of a gastro / foodie destination but what I loved most was the stylish wedding ceremony room. After the wedding all the guests made their way outside to the beer garden and the annex Garden Room. There were champagne and nibbles and the lots of celebratory noise. The bride, groom and I remained in the ceremony room for some portraits. The weather was absolutely freezing and Eleanor quite rightly didn’t fancy a outdoor stroll. I used the textured walls as a cool back drop for their portraits. I am always conscious of time when I am shooting wedding portraits. I don’t want to keep the bride and groom away from their own party so work quickly to get stunning and natural portraits. I always arrive early at a new venue to get an idea of the best places for Mr and Mrs portraits.

Natural and Unposed London Wedding Photography

This North London Pub wedding was the first of 2023 for me. The wonderful couple wanted a small family only wedding. I was left the happy couple after a couple of hours to enjoy the rest of their day. I love a big a summer marquee wedding with all the bells and whistles but I also love a small intimate wedding. All the key elements of a wedding are condensed into 2 or 3 hours and I got home in time to walk the dog, bonus!
