Rosie and Rich commissioned my low key and informal wedding photography for their charming and stylish village green wedding in Crondall, near Farnham. I have been photographing weddings in the UK for many years and am often booked by couples who have seen me at work at their friends wedding celebrations. So it was for Rosie and Rich who had been guests at Melody and Richards Hurlingham Club in 2022. Crondall is a super pretty English Village an hour outside of London. If you had to describe a quintessential English Village to someone then Crondall would be pretty good template; ancient Norman Church, Village Green complete with cricket club and thatched local pub.

Crondall Village Wedding Photographer

This Crondall Village wedding started in lush sunshine, Rosie and her family eating, laughing and enjoying the excitement that was building. I had driven out from my home in Hackney on the morning of the wedding. I always arrive at least half and hour early particularly if the wedding venues are new to me. I was able to have a stroll around the village and orientate myself to Rosies home, the church and the marquees. Having a wedding all in one location makes life easy on everyone involved, everything at the Farnham wedding was walkable, perfect. The groom Richard met the guests with a drink in hand at the local pub. I was floating about photographing the smiles in my usual mix of colour and black and white.

All Saints and St. Mary Church Wedding in Crondall

The All Saints and St. Mary Church in Crondall is ancient and beautiful. The team at Blostm Botanicals had provided gorgeous flowers for the church along with the button holes for the fellas and Rosies bouquet. I love a church wedding and this was a particularly nice one. After the ceremony trays of slow gin were passed around and a rousing “Cheers!” shouted as everyone started their engines.

Summer Marquee Wedding in Farnham

The newly minted Mr and Mrs walked out of All Saints and St. Mary Church in Crondall to confetti and celebrations. To add to this already fantastic moment a New Orleons style bras band called The London Street Band were playing. This Farnham wedding was gearing up to be a proper banger! family group portraits followed the confetti. I had a list of the groups and work fast to get this important element finished. The bride and groom and I had met in the lead up tho their wedding to run through the schedule and also chat about their fear of Mr and Mrs portraits. As always I was reassuring and let the couple know that I prefer a natural take on wedding portraiture. Once the guests had walked over to the marquee we three remained for a 5 minute stroll, no posing just a walk and smiles.

As the sun set guests took their seats ready for dinner and speeches. During drinks and lawn games I had paid particular attention to all the little details that had gone into the wedding day. The flowers, the cake, the table settings. The speeches were funny and emotional in equal measure and before long two smartly dressed waiters picked up a microphone and surprised the party by belting out some songs. The waiters were in fact singers in disguise from the Singing Waiters company. They led the party in a huge conga and really revved everyone up.
