Sussex Humanist Wedding Photographer
Hawthbush Farm played host to Georgie and Rick’s East Sussex wedding bash. This was my first visit to Hawthbush Farm. This stunning country side wedding venue is an hour and a half outside London. Rolling fields and beautiful woodland, Hawthbush Farm suited this Humanist Wedding down to the ground.
Hawthbush Farm Humanist Wedding
The humanist service took place in a woodland glade. It was truly magical, like a film set. Fabulous flowers had been hung from the trees as well as a wooden frame in front of which G & R tied the knot. The Hawthbush Farm wedding team paid wonderful attention to detail. Vintage milk churns were dotted about the site stocked with umbrellas – there were even wellies to borrow if needs be! I love to be able to float at a wedding. Staying out of guests eye-lines is important for my relaxed and natural photography. I dont ask people to pose for me, I prefer to to capture honest documentary photography. Being deep in a wood certainly gave me ample cover to work my craft!
Sussex Farm Wedding
The newly minted Mr and Mrs and I went for a leisurely stroll after the service for some relaxed wedding portraits. Hawthbush Farm has a fab old gypsy caravan that is a perfect back drop. The woodland and wild flower fields also offer amazing opportunities for super cool portraits. Guests were able to stroll around the amazing grounds with drinks in hand. The fellas had been hard at work earlier in the day prepping various tents and teepees with kegs of ale and cider. No one was going thirsty at this wedding!
Sussex Barn Wedding
The wedding reception was held in a large barn with a dance floor and a stage for a band. A second open barn (no sides) had vintage leather sofa’s and bean bags. G & R also put up a large tent that became the kids play room. Many guests stayed onsite in cute eco pods with hot tubs. The whole farm is open to campers during the summer, great for families. I chose to drive back to London and my Hackney home after the wedding. A huge plus point for Hawthbush Farm weddings is the hop and a skip from London.
