It’s always a good sign when guests from a previous wedding invite you to photograph their own wedding day – in this case a fabulous June wedding taking place at Hackney Town Hall followed by a fabulous reception in the heart of the city at a new venue for me – Searcys At The Gherkin.

Hackney Town Hall has been newly refurbished and looks amazing – lots of interesting marble and Art Deco features. Anna and Andy arrived with guests looking suitably stylish as the sun shone down on us (though thankfully it wasn’t as hot as it has been of late).

The small and intimate wedding service went by in a flash and after confetti and a short family group photography session it was onto a traditional open top route master for a trip through London to the architectural wonder that is The Gherkin. The top two floors of The Gherkin are available for private hire and offer amazing views of the London – not to mention delish food ! While the guests enjoyed glasses of champagne, Anna and Andy took a moment to enjoy the 360 degree views giving me the opportunity to grab a candid portrait of a wonderful couple.

I left the wedding party to enjoy the rest of their evening and would like to thank Anna and Andy and all their guests for making me so welcome. Hope to see you round Hackney in the future.
