As a Southwest England Wedding Photographer and a Bridwell Park Wedding Photographer it was a particular privilege to photograph Yoojee and Alex’s Devon Wedding.  Yoojee and Alex chose the newly opened country house wedding venue of Bridwell Park on the border of Devon and Somerset for their beautiful and intimate autumn wedding.*

Bridwell Park is owned by Lord Mountbatten and is a classic Georgian Country House. With large rooms, high ceilings and open fires plus its own wedding chapel Bridwell park is perfect for a cosy winter wedding. The main house is surrounded by stunning west country farm land with a herd of deer wandering freely on the estate, (as a boring side note the venue is 10 minutes from the M5 motorway so incredibly easy to get to!)

After dropping in to photograph a traditional Korean banquet and violin recital by Yoojee’s talented brother the night before the wedding, I met Yoojee and Alex in the early stages of wedding prep on the morning of the big day. While the guests shot clay pigeons in the grounds of the main house, Yoojee and her mum steamed the many layers of her fabulous wedding frock while Alex and his best men busied themselves lighting fires and organizing booze distribution.

The wedding service was officiated by Yoojee’s father and went without a hitch, candle light and talented musicians all added to the romance of the moment. Yoojee and Alex exited the chapel to rose petal confetti and due to the slight drizzle got stuck into a short family group photography session and bride and groom pictures.

After a champagne celebration and tossing of the bouquet the wedding gang all moved into the Orangery for dinner. Heartfelt speeches followed the amazing food and I left the wonderful party in full swing, dance floor packed.

I would like to thank Yoojee and Alex and all their guests for making me so welcome and wish them all the best in the future.

*I am a huge fan of winter weddings, so much of the pressure of a big sunny summer bash is removed by accepting the weather may be poor and planning accordingly. British weather is temperamental at best and being reliant on a gorgeous summer day for marquee champagne and croquet can lead to disappointment.
