I love an autumn wedding and Henrietta and Morgan’s was a belter – they chose The Peasant in Clerkenwell EC1 to host their wedding reception, having tied the knot first in the Council Chamber in Islington Town Hall. The day kicked off as Morgan, his family and guests gathered at The Vineyard Pub, which is bang opposite the Town Hall. Button holes were being attached and the odd pint ordered as guests arrived for pre wedding drinks.

As Morgan and the wedding party made their way to the Council Chamber, Henrietta and her sister arrived both looking fabulous. The service went beautifully, with a lovely reading and very well behaved babies, and after a quick family group portrait session on the confetti-strewn steps of the town hall we all made our way to The Peasant Pub in Clerkenwell.

The Peasant is a wonderful, atmospheric venue, particularly at this time of year. An old school pub with lots of original features. It’s also the sister pub to the Londesborough in Stoke Newington – a firm fave of mine for both weddings and Sunday roast! The Londesborough is also where Hen and Morgan first met me as I photographed their good pals Rob and Caroline’s wedding in 2014. Back in The Peasant glasses of bubbles awaited the guests as the celebrations started in earnest. Hen, Morgan and I nipped out for some additional portraits in the beautiful streets of EC1 and returned for a delicious dinner and great speeches.

I left the happy couple with the dance floor packed and would like to thank everyone for making me so welcome. I wish the bride and groom all the very best in the future.
