The Hurlingham Club in London’s SW1 played host to Juliet and Edwards Wedding Reception, I was privileged to be asked to photograph thier fabulous Hurlingham Club wedding day in my documentary wedding photography style.

It was down to London’s SW6 for the wonderful wedding day of Juliet and Edward. Proceedings began at The Plough in East Sheen, where groom Edward and guests gathered, all looking super dapper, buttonholes in place and both wedding rings accounted for. After a drink or two to steady the nerves, the party made their way onto the stunning Christ Church, conveniently just down the road from the pub.

Juliet and her father arrived in style in a vintage Rolls, and entered the church under an archway bedecked with beautiful white roses – what a nice touch. It was wonderful to shoot inside the magnificent Christ Church. These big old churches tend to have small high windows, which provide pools of warm romantic light and a wonderful atmosphere. You can’t see this from the pics but the acoustics were also fantastic and the guests all raised their game accordingly. Some belting hymns were sung!

After a beautiful and moving ceremony, Juliet and Edward took time to mingle with their guests outside the church – a lovely pause in the day and a chance to digest the fact they were now husband and wife. Lovely, relaxed images of bride and groom, and guests, and a cracking confetti shot too = happy photographer.

From Christ Church, we then battled with the London traffic to cross the river and arrive at the magnificent reception venue, The Hurlingham Club in Fulham, a private members club set in 42 acres of grounds with a suitably impressive Georgian pile as clubhouse. The weather really played ball for Juliet and Edward, and guests enjoyed drinks and canapes on the lawn, while being entertained by a talented string quartet. The sun was setting as guests took their seats for dinner and speeches. I left the party with the dance floor heaving. I would like to thank Juliet and Edward and their families for making me so welcome. Additional thanks to the Hurlingham staff for running such a tight ship. J x
