Kew Gardens Nash Conservatory Winter Wedding

The Nash Conservatory Kew Gardens, near Putney is a wonderful winter wedding venue. Kew Gardens is an iconic wedding venue. I have photographed a number of weddings at The Nash Conservatory but this was my first winter wedding here. Dan, the groom arrived with the fellas looking suitably dapper. Wedding guests were given a fun mock newspaper on arrival with a family pictures. There was even a wedding quizz on the bride and groom – a really nice touch. The humanist ceremony was amusing and moving in equal part and before long guests were gathering outside for a quick group picture.

London Rowing Club Putney Wedding Reception

From a wedding photographers point of view, a winter wedding should start as early as possible to maximise the daylight. Emily and Dan arranged a 2 pm Nash Conservatory wedding. This meant we had enough day light for portraits and some fun family groups. Kew Gardens laid on a golf buggy to drive the bride and groom and I around the amazing grounds for some portraits. When we returned to The Nash Conservatory all the guests jumped on a couple of vintage Route Master buses on route to Putney and The London Rowing Club wedding reception.

Putney Documentary Wedding Photographer

The London Rowing Club was a new wedding reception to me. This fabulous wedding reception venue is bang on The Thames in Putney. It has a very cool balcony overlooking the river perfect for firework watching as this wedding was on bonfire night! Boats, paddles and rowing paraphernalia adorned the Rowing Club walls and a horse shoe of tables were set for dinner. Emily and Dan did not want an overly fussy meal with course after course. Spaghetti Bolognese was a masterful stroke of genius – how doesn’t love spag bol?!
