It’s always a particular pleasure to be asked to photograph a luxury wedding in Babington House. Babington House, part of the Soho House Group is a private members retreat near Frome and the M5. This is a luxury wedding venue with all the bells and whistles. The main babington House is a beautiful Regency property with a games room, cocktail Bar and Orangery.

I arrived to see Garreth and the fellas dashing for cover from a shower. The groom and ushers had to abort their morning cricket match – yes, there is a Babington House cricket pitch! Thankfully the rain didn’t stay and I met Lucy and the girls in matching pj’s. The bridal party were having their hair and make up done and enjoying the odd glass of bubbles. The bridal suite at Babington House overlooks the lawns which was fun as guests were milling about.

One of the really special elements of Babington House is the private chapel located on site. A truly stunning building that Lucy and Garreth had decked out with flowers and candles. With the chapel filling up with a handsome bunch of guests, Garreth and his bestman waited patiently (at least, a calm exterior was being successfully projected!) for Lucy, the bridesmaids and her father to arrive.
The service was beautiful, along with the choice of hymns – who doesn’t love Jerusalem?! Lucy and Garreth exited to petal confetti and dazzling sunshine. After a fun family group photography session, the bride and groom and I, plus the amazing bridesmaid Lucy Kerr (on reflector duty), nipped off for some relaxed portraits in the manicured grounds of Babington House, with a pond, cornfield and walled garden we were spoilt for locations.

After dinner and wonderful speeches the dance floor filled and I left a packed bar to make my way back to London.
