St. Dunstan in the East<\/a> is a North London wedding photographer dream venue. The church is now a ruin after a it was bombed in the second world war. Rather than rebuilding the church the ruins have been left as a monument. Ivy and trees have grown into the church ruins that look absolutely amazing – something right out of Game of Thrones! The uber modern London city buildings that surround St. Dunstan in the East make the ruins look even more dynamic. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Weddings at St. Dunstan in the East<\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Wedding photography at St Dunstan-in-the-East takes some beating. The church was severely damaged in the Second World War and no longer has a roof, a full set of walls or even functions as an actual church. The beautiful ruin in the centre of the City of London has the air of a place reclaimed by nature and is super romantic. What is left of the original structure is now covered in beautiful plant climbers which, on a sunny day, allow dappled sunlight to filter through. No two ways about it, this is an insanely romantic spot in which to say ‘I do’.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most Romantic London Wedding Venues<\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Fiona and Adam struck lucky with the weather. This was very fortunate as St.Dunstan in the East has no roof! Dappled light was the order of the day as their friends and family gathered beneath the green canopy for the open-air ceremony. St Dunstan’s still has its original steeple (designed by Christopher Wren) which contrasts dramatically with the skyscrapers surrounding it. It’s the kind of architectural mash-up this great city does so well, and which photography is made for. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

City of London wedding Reception Venues<\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

After their vows, Fiona and Adam and their guests strolled through the city to The Drift Bar<\/a>, on nearby Bishopsgate. It’s a lovely, light-filled venue for a wedding<\/a> reception. Spacious too, which was just as well, since Fiona and Adam (New Zealanders both) had booked a traditional Maori dance display. Which was definitely a wedding first for me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
