Gilbert Scott Bar Wedding Reception

Hi John, are you available to photograph my St.Pancras Renaissance Hotel Wedding reception?”.

“Absobloodylutely I am, amazing!”

The St.Pancras Hotel and Gilbert Scott Bar are Amazing – capital A. I have driven past this extraordinary Kings Cross building for many years. I even had a look around once when it was derelict in the 1990’s. Marcus Wareing has taken over the fine dining and Kamila and Matt decided on a Chef’s table experience for their intimate London wedding. The wonderful couple tied the knot in Stoke Newington Town Hall. They then jumped in cabs to the St.Pancras Renaissance Hotel for cocktails and celebrations in The Gilbert Scott Bar.

Kamila and Matt had originally booked me to photograph their Stoke Newington Town Hall wedding followed by a pub wedding reception at The Peasant Pub in EC1. Sadly Covid got involved with the original plans so a more intimate London wedding was organised. The exterior of The St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel is fabulous. K & M left their guests to relax at the bar while we took a leisurely stroll along the cobbles for some natural, unposed portraits.

The two families gathered on the grand stair case for some family portraits. Although officially face masks have to be worn at all times we managed to snatch a few images ‘sans mask’. The Gilbert Scott Bar had reserved some tables for cocktails and celebrations before a Marcus Wareing private dining experience later that evening. I took a picture of the signed menu as it looked frankly, delicious.

Covid19 – Socially distanced London wedding

Downsizing wedding plans is the order of the day. I am loving photographing these condensed weddings. We are all looking forward to (and hoping) for a return to normal in 2021. I have plenty of dates available next year and look forward to hearing from you. Drop me a line if you would like to check my wedding photography availability in 2021.
