This was my first socially distanced wedding at Old Marylebone Town Hall. I’m a fan of this special London wedding venue. I’ve had the pleasure of shooting dozens of weddings here over the years. Unlike other London Town Halls, Marylebone does not insist on face masks for guests. Although I did wear a face mask, just as I do in Hackney, Stoke Newington and Islington Town Halls.
Old Marylebone Town Hall Covid19 wedding
I arrived to the small, intimate and bijou (I’ve always wanted to work bijou into a sentence) wedding to meet the groom. He was waiting outside the Town Hall for his bride who was fashionably late. Like many of my 2020 couples, their much larger wedding had been scaled back to the bare essentials. There were only two guests in attendance. With the bride, groom, me and the registrar that made 6 in total.
Socially Distanced London Town Hall Wedding
There is currently a confetti ban at The Old Marylebone Town Hall due to Covid19. Even so, exiting a London Town Hall as a newly minted Mr & Mrs is always a beautiful moment. My wedding couple are Brazilian and wanted some wedding portraits that reflected the ‘Old London’ streets around Marylebone. Guests that would have been in attendance were it not for the virus wanted to see a flavour of London. The bride, groom and I took a stroll around the back streets including the pretty mews behind the town hall stopping for portraits. The weather was on our side and I used a tickle of gold reflector to bring out some gorgeous colours for this wonderful couple.
