Hiromi & Stuart – Islington Town Hall Wedding Photography

I’m very happy to say the sun shone for this, my first spring wedding of 2016. Stuart and Hiromi chose the beautiful Council Chamber of Islington Town Hall for their wedding. Having just flown in all the way from Japan they both looked fabulous, which considering the nine hour time difference is no mean feat. Islington was looking its best too, with a real springtime feel to it. Once button holes were attached and wedding rings accounted for, Stuart made his way inside while Hiromi arrived with her parents.

After the small and intimate ceremony, Stuart, Hiromi and I stayed behind for a relaxed portrait session in the marble corridor next to the Council Chamber. I always love taking portraits there, especially on a day like this one when natural light floods the space. The happy couple positively glowed. Afterwards, the bride and groom left the building in showers of confetti, after which we took family group pictures on the steps outside.

I left the lovely group of people as they made their way to City Road for their wedding breakfast – in this case a traditional slap up meal of Fish and Chips.

I would like to thank Hiromi and Stuart for making me so welcome and for my unexpected gift of a bottle of Sake – what a treat!
